Cameroon military storm John Fru Ndi's residence and SDF legal counsel reacts #NoToMarginalization (Watch)

On November 23, 2016, the Cameroon military allegedly stormed the Bamenda residence of the main opposition party leader, John Fru Ndi in Bamenda. They reportedly used tear gas and fired bullets into the compound and a nearby off licence.

The charismatic leader reacted by calling the Governor of the region, Adolph Lele L’Afrique to complain about the incident. The Governor, accompanied by the SDO for Mezam, the Regional Delegate for National Security and the Commissioner of GMI N06 Bamenda, then met with the Chairman at his residence. This meeting held behind closed doors.




Barrister Ben Suhfor, member and legal counsel of the SDF issued an official statement in which he condemned the acts of the police and blamed the regime for failing to heed to advice and dialogue. He said the chairman presented to the Governor tear gas cannisters and bullet shells picked found in his compound after the attack.




This comes after strike action in the region.
