Rio 2016: Cameroon records its first win

On August 9th, Cameroonian boxer, Wilfried Seyi, gave its first victory at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. The victory came through when minus 75 kg boxer, 18-year old Seyi Wildfried who defeated his Columbian adversary, Jorge Vivas Palacios.

Seyi dominated his opponent at both the first and second rounds with a score of 29-28 and lossed the third round (27-30), emerging victorious at the end of the match.

Seyi's victory has qualified him for the eighth finals in boxing and rekindled hope in team Cameroon, representing the country at the Rio Olympics.
