Exclusive: Official statement from Awuma Marius' family and burial program

The following is an official statement from Awuma Marius's family and burial program sent exclusively to Kinnaka's Blog by the his family.
It's with a heavy heart I issue these statement regarding the death of my grand son Awuma Marius (My Papa). I really wish the was a way I could take his place because my only reason for holding on is to see my children (my grand children) happy but all I have been seeing around me now are their tears .. I believe you have seen the story put out by the school about the died of my papa. Am not here to judge for I leave all judgment to God Almighty but those who have a hand in the death of my papa will never have peace still they will come and apologize to us before God will forgive them. The school has called me and visited just once since we separated on Tuesday at about 10pm at the mortuary, we wanted to stay for him to be cleaned up so we can see him but the principal told me not to worry that we shall come see him the next day in the morning they didn't come or call still after the knew my eldest grand son had came to school on Thursday he asked some of Awuma's classmates where were present at the jogging what happened and what he posted is exactly as given to him, the pictures were taken in my presence on Wednesday at about 4pm and the mortuary attendant was with us. What has happened has happened and we posted these so as to make sure another family doesn't suffer as we are suffering now. My papa will be buried on the 12 of March at my compound in Muyuka and I pray God takes care of him still we meet again. I thank you all for your condolences and I pray God bless you all and keep you save.

  5. Fuck that statement. It's a pity the young man died but we should learn to stop blaming others when someone dies especially in Cameroon. The official autopsy report is out. He died from heart failure during physical activity. Case closed we as sobans will come together to help the family. But please stop spreading false statement if not I will personally see ur blog is a kenzo off Google

    1. "Fuck that statement.....I will personally see that ur blog is a kenzo off Google.... We as Sabons...." You are a perfect product of school filled with brutality and bullying. It shows in your comment. It is a shame that you came out sounding like this despite all the money your parents spent. Wow congratulations Saint Joseph’s College producing murderers and bullies. Such a pity. Kinaka blog keep covering this story. DO NOT let a low life product from SJC bully u. Rip Marius

    2. My friend, be sympathetic. Dying due to heart failure during physiological activity is the same as dying during brutality. Who do you deceive here?

    3. Be realistic a bit bro. We are Africans and Cameroonians more to that. Our culture and traditions have a lot of mystics and mysticisms. Anything can happen. I brought because you seem not to believe the reports from the school and acknowledge the fact that this boy can die a natural dead.

    4. Wait till it happens to you ,stop displaying such ignorance ,picture tell the whole story ! With an apparently swollen face ,bruises and blood and you tell me its natural cause ,you better be a CUSS graduate ,n i hope not for u have failed them .Stop this idiocy .Somebody is protecting somebody .If it were my son heads will roll in that school .Not even my dog will go to that school untill this case is rightly addressed .

    5. I strongly doubt the academic heritage of this so called ex sasse student. Ur approach, talking, attitude says all of ur low profile education. U might had gone to school, but dnt tink school went tro u. At times, u need not express ur stupidity in public. U nothing, insignificant, just a peace of cheap lousy fool trying give urself some attention.
People are trying to condole with a berieved family and bring clearity to a louded murder inssident, and all ur lousy mouth can say is rubbish. Be carefull.

  6. I have read the official documents from the school authority. The kid died a natural death. He was not beaten by anyone. He just suffered some ill health. One thing is certain in life, deat is an inevitable reality of the human race. The earlier we accept that, the better. The kid is dead. instead of casting stones, work out ur salvation with fear and trembling so that u do not be cast into eternal suffering when the saviour comes. He who has an ear,let hih hear what the Spirit of the Lord is saying

    1. Where the hell did u get your own story from? Those who said the child was beaten actually witnessed it. Your are just a third party whose own version of the story is hearsay. So you have no prove and therefore no point. Bye..

    2. Who are the students who witnessed it then.

  8. How a student can be "beaten to death" by another student or whoever without a single witness, without a name attached to the perpetrators and with family members more interested in sending "evidence" to the Internet than taking it to the police is just unimaginable to me.
Yes, this incident has equally demonstrated the power of the Internet for it has succeeded to plant into our heads the believe (rightly or wrongly) that the school maybe having something to hide......
Had this family talked about going to the police and not getting a better response, some of us could have at least seen some sense in what they are saying. The school has come out with an elaborate analysis of what happened and the school has equally asked very pertinent questions that anyone holding a contrary view should at least attempt to answer but we'll not get answers, more so because a young man cannot just die like that......
It's a pity to lose a young man like this but it's even worse to use his death to scandalise his friends, some of whom have to deal with the trauma of seeing him die!

  9. Watching the pictures from facebook, we could see lines of beatings with a cane. So all the camouflage here, know that pictorial images had revealed it all to the public.

    1. Africa and Cameroon are mysterious and so their culture and traditions are wired on mystics and mysticism. Dead bodies transform in Cameroon. Let us be real brother. The family of this boy can have a hand in his dead. No one is ready to see it from this angle. I didn't say it's a nice thing he died this way. You and I don't know how it will come to us. Reserve some comments for God and nature to judge.

  10. That boy died an innocent death which he never deserved from the hands of some selfish bastard. God is watching you as I type this. However, like the saying goes everything happens for a reason but mind you, you are in for a Rude Awakening if you don't stand up and confess to what u did to that boy. The earlier for you the better. A word to a wise is sufficient. I've said my piece. Rest in Peace Marius and May the Good Lord continue to comfort your family during this tough time. I can only imagine what they are going through at this moment but God will forever be their Comforter. It's so sad you went too soon. And to the Awuma family, I sincerely express my condolences. God will clean your tears and put back a smile in your faces for Marius is in a better place now which with time you would understand. Be blessed!

  11. I see a bunch of Africans speak like people from Jupiter. I also see learned people speak as if they never went to school. I see another group who have forgotten that nature and God exist. Where are the real parents of this boy ? I can only hear grand ma and eldest grand son? We completely forgot the mystics and mysticisms that our African and Cameroonian culture is wired with. I cannot under estimate that in this case where school administration gave a report the witneesed and an autopsy which is a medical report to prove thing beyond our naked eyes officially. "Hear say" is very common in Cameroon and if carried by your haters you are in trouble. Some have used this occasion to pour the bitterness they have with the mission and SASSE college. Can this family get the names of those they claim beat their son to dead? Which normal family with great love for their son not seek justice with the competent authorities if they can prove beyond reasonable doubts their claims against sasse college? God is the owner of life and when he says it is over , ait is over. What goes around comes around. This child was sent to sasse because you know the worth of this college and if all the blackmail you have done is really not true, you will pay back one way or the other. Anything can happen in Africa and Cameroon. If any family member has a hand in his dead and you are setting confusion in the public, you will pay back. Maybe God made it that he will exit this world this way. Just accept and take heart for we know its painful. The funeral program didn't future the school in any way why ? That child is suppose to be taken to campus for the last respect to be paid.

  13. So you think sasse in the light of this controversy will cover up the lowersixth student who committed this atrocity. What will they be hiding the perpetrator for. Did he give them a million dollar bill. Conventionally, a typical lower sixth student is assumed 16-18 years and it was brutality not attwmpted murder. So why will sasse hide the story when they know the lower sixth student will plead guilty and will be granted pardonbut fined or have not more than five years. Please lets be reasonable. Unless we all arw implying someone mpre important did the act. Cuz the comments of the catholic church being ritualists others bringing in sexual harassment just becomes more personal. Secondly, under normal circumstances if a news crops up that your kid you thought died a normal death was brutalised till death. Which will you want to believe especially if it was a young kid. The kid is gone but u will never believe a young kid died like that you will attribute it to witchcraft or mirder. Whatever you attribute it it implies you pit it on another person. That pa no matter how many independent autopsies are done has his mind set on one thing, "someone killed my son".
Im not saying sasse is innocent oh. Im just saying no matter what that pa said he wasnt there when the son died, he is not God, so is prone towrong judgements. In this light all I imply is that the truth is between Sasse and God. Lets not point fingers. We have our lives to live and our lessons to learn. Judgement is for God. No matter what is said the truth still stands. Please lets pray for the kid and forget about this once and for all. Leave it to God. RIP Marius.

  14. May his soul RIP and God grant consolation to the grieving family and friends. That being said an official post mortem report was released March 3rd by lone anglophone pathologist in Cameroon same time is director of Buea Regional Hospital who himself carried out an autopsy in the presence of mortuary personnel and states cause of death as cardiomyopathy, a medical condition which causes the heart muscle to become enlarged, thick and rigid. In addition, death due to physical harm or abuse was ruled out. Now that is the official medical report published.
I think everyone is entitled to an opinion. Just remember, cite your sources when you pass judgement on others and be ready to take accountability and responsibility for your words and actions.
My personal view is I believe he died a natural cause (we all will someday pass away too). From first hand information, when a corpse is embalmed they tend to be swelling (I will expect this was the kid's case as the embalmer would normally have a hard time dealing with an autopsied body given that the circulatory system can't be used as usual and each arm, leg or head has to be injected separately). Let's not loose sight of the fact the body is made up of protein which rapidly begins breaking down in a lifeless body.
Choose to believe what you believe, use social media wisely (draw lessons from the Python incident in Eta Palace hotel Buea) and last but not least remember what goes around comes around!
Cheers. Ban (My independent view) Quote me anywhere, any day, anytime.
