‘DILDO RAPIST’: FEMALE CHARGED WITH STATUTORY RAPE (photo)

Defendant Zorh being Escorted to jail
Monrovia - Covering her face in shame, Marion Zorh walks out of a crowded courtroom of the Monrovia City Court escorted to the Monrovia Central Prison to be remanded drawing curious onlookers. Zorh faces a charge of statutory rape for allegedly raping a 14 year old girl with a dildo (false penis). Defendant Zorh has been undergoing investigation at the Women and Children Protection Section (WACPS) since February 17, 2016 but was forwarded to the Monrovia City Court on Friday February 19 where she was duly charged by the court and sent to jail.
Police say that defendant Marion Zorh was arrested and predicated upon the complaint filed to the Police by the father of the victim who claimed that his daughter was raped. Quoting Police reports, the father said his daughter had gone into the room of the defendant to prepare food when the defendant offered her a cup of juice which made her dizzy and she fell asleep.

He alleged that when his daughter woke up, she saw her underclothes soaked with blood, prompting her to ask the defendant who then showed her two artificial penises and said she used it to have intercourse with her. According to the victim, as quoted by the Police report, after the defendant allegedly used the artificial penis, she also used her finger into her private part during another incident when she had gone in her room to watch movie. Following the incident, she said the defendant gave her LD$400 to buy medicine.

The Police said during the investigation the defendant admitted knowing the victim for more than a year since she (victim) and her parents moved into the compound. According to the Police, the defendant admitted sending the victim in her room to change her daughter’s clothes and also admitted giving the victim LD$160.00 but said the money was given to her to buy food and water.

Police say that it has resolved to charge the defendant with the crime of statutory rape because investigation established that the defendant has had several contacts with the victim as well as admitting giving money to the victim. Defendant Zorh is the first female defendant to be charged under the jurisdiction of the court early this year on allegation of the crime of rape.

Other rape cases brought under the jurisdiction of the court are predominantly men. With rape being a capital and non-bailable offence passed by the National Legislature since 2009, defendant Zorh is to remain in jail until she is indicted by the Grand Jury of Montserrado County on the crime of statutory rape which is in violation Section 14.7 of the New Penal Law.
